ℹ️About This Game
Breakout was created by Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs for Atari in 1976. Jobs sold the idea to Atari, and the two Steves built it in four days. The game was a defining moment in arcade history and directly inspired the development of Arkanoid in 1986, which became its own phenomenon. In Breakout, a ball bounces between a paddle and a wall of bricks — clearing all bricks wins the level. Our version features multiple levels, increasing speed, and special brick types to keep the challenge fresh.
💡Tips & Strategy
- 1
Aim for the top rows first — the ball speeds up near the top and clears bricks faster.
- 2
Don't panic when the ball speeds up. Focus on small paddle movements, not chasing the ball wildly.
- 3
Wedge the ball above the bricks to let it bounce freely and destroy rows automatically.
- 4
Keep the paddle moving predictably — rapid random jittering causes you to miss more than it helps.
❓FAQ
Q. How many lives do I have?
You start with 3 lives. Every time the ball drops past the paddle, you lose one life. Lose all three and the game is over.
Q. Does the ball get faster?
Yes — the ball speed gradually increases as you progress through levels and clear more bricks. Advanced levels are significantly faster than the start.
Q. Are there special bricks?
Yes! Some bricks require multiple hits, while others may release power-ups or special effects when destroyed. Keep an eye out for them.
